Understanding The Components Of A Cooling System

During the summer months the biggest and crucial job your AC unit does is cooling the indoor air. AC units make use of thermostats to change and keep track of the ambient air temperature. In addition to the important function of cooling a space an Air Conditioner also acts as a filter taking out airborne particles from continuing to circulate in the air. Often times AC units can also act as dehumidifiers, taking moisture content from the air and cooling a place down. That's why on incredibly hot days you can actually see water being released from numerous AC units.

The main purpose of all the major parts inside an Air Conditioner is to move hot air out the inside of your house and cool down the air it's blowing in, thereby controling temperature.

There are 4 major parts to most any type of major air conditioning systems. There is the evaporator which obtains the fluid refrigerant. The Condenser facilities heat transfers. The pump that pressurizes the refrigerant is called the compressor and expansion valve determines refrigerant flow into the evaporator.

The evaporator is contained within the cool side of the air conditioner which has a fan that blows the air over the icy cool coils. The air is then blown into whichever space the air flow determines to cool the room. Both the compressor and the condenser are contained in the hot side of the air conditioning unit. From there a fan blows the heated air outdoors.

The expansion valve is found between the set of coils. The role of the expansion valve is to manage the quantity of liquid refrigerant moving into the evaporator. The moment the refrigerant is in the evaporator it drops in pressure causing an expansion and which results in the refrigerant transforming back into a gas. The compressor is a very large electrical pump. The job of the compressor is to pressurize refrigerant gas to turn it back into a fluid. While there are most certainly more pieces to modern air conditioning units such as sensing units, timers and valves, these 4 parts on the major elements of any type of conventional AC unit.

Window air conditioners have somewhat different elements because of their little size. There are little variations you should know. For example with window air conditioners the hot air vents from the back of the unit sits outside. Larger AC units work quite a bit differently. Central AC units share a thermostat control the background air temp. In lots of sizable commercial and industrial buildings the external condensing unit is found someplace on the roof.McKinney Air Conditioning Repair\n
